Description
Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Original Event Description Following a successful reviewer training day in 2009, we are offering another day for potential reviewers of ELiSS. Enhancing Learning in Social Science (ELiSS) is publishing three issues in 2009. At present every submission is reviewed by two board members. On occasions we seek external expertise to ensure we review papers appropriately. We would now like to expand our pool of reviewers particularly as the volume of submissions increases and as we go on to tackle different areas. Who would we like to attend this training? Any academic working in one or more of the following Anthropology, Criminology, Cultural Studies, History, Social Geography, Politics, Sociology who has an interest in promoting learning and teaching and would like to read paper submissions that provide insights into current activities, different practices. You do not need to have refereed before either in learning and teaching or in your discipline. The purpose of the day is to help you develop appropriate skills and to understand how the ELiSS process works. In 2010 we are going to publish a special issue on 'Teaching sensitive issues'. We are keen to involve colleagues in the refereeing for this issue. If you teach in an area where you feel sensitive issues arise and that you have something to contribute then please join us on 25 February. You do need to be interested in learning and teaching in your subject area but do not need to be published as yet. Refereeing for the journal including the special issue on teaching sensitive issues does not preclude you from submitting papers or reports for consideration. Indeed the editor welcomes papers from board members and referees. Anthony Rosie Booking Link https://www.bhamonlineshop.co.uk/events/eventdetails.asp?eventid=104 |
